{Stitchin' Kitchin' Sets}

Decided to whip up these beauts today!! Usually I sell these separately {these are stay put towels with ric rac detail, and quilted coasters} But today I thought I could make them a set and sew them in coordinating fabric! I {heart} this beautiful cool palette...and we actually just painted our bedroom a similar blue and gray hue!! Lovin it! What a lazy day it's been so far...what's everyone cooking for supper?? I always need meal ideas....

{Prairie Story Linky}

Linking up with Prairie Story today! I'm making my most favorite, and easy salad, it's great for large get togethers, or family suppers...Greek Pasta Salad! {Side note...did you know my name spelled backwards is sallad}

You need to get:
1 tomatoe
1 cucumber
1 purple onion
1 red pepper
1 green pepper
1 block of feta cheese
1 small container of black olives
1 bottle of greek dressing
1 box of pasta {fusilli, tortiglioni, or bow tie work great}

You need to do:
Boil your pasta until it is aldante, when it is done cooking run it under cold water and mix with olive oil

Place pasta in bowl

Cut up all your veggies greek style {large chunks} add to pasta, top with feta and olives. Add desired amount of greek dressing stir and refrigerate for about 30 minutes, and serve!

I made this for my Family Day get was a hit...

What a great day yesterday was!! Trev {my fiance} and I went out to his aunt and uncles farm for some toboganning, food, drinks, fire, and PIGS! It was pretty sweet! I got to go down and feed all the little baby piggies {the ones pictured} they were squealing, and oinkin' it was too cool! I can't wait till we move out to the country so I can get a couple of pigs and chickens!

And today my lovely parents stopped over for some coffee and freshly baked cookies! By far a great family day weekend!

{Oh and I just have to mention about how Trevor left the sink running in our porch and flooded the laundry room...needless to say the floor got a much needed cleaning, so I guess it's okay that it happened.}

It's finished!

I got the bird cage on Tuesday with my sister, It's going to be the card box at our wedding! I just have to add some ribbon and some custom singage...hmmm maybe I will have to post a DIY on that to!

Close up of the new knobs I {heart} so much!

I got it done in the whee hours of the night last evening! I am so happy with the results! Now my old desk can be my cutting table and my new one can be my sewing table! What do you think??
Are there any items in your home that have gone from drab, to fab?

{DIY New Desk}

So I have been looking for an antique desk to redo for a few months now, but I just haven't been able to find the right one. They have either been way to expensive, or way to new looking, I needed one that was just right.

And then on yoga tuesday one just appeared on the sidewalk, outside of a nasty old building, beside a nasty looking couch {think 70's brown plaid} and called my name!

I just asked the guys ripping out the building if I could take it, and they gladly said I could take it off their hands!

So far I have spent $40 on new paint, sand paper, and some amazing vintage looking glass knobs!!

This is my before picture...hopefully I can get it painted up tommorow and show you the after picture of it in my sewing studio, it will be a perfect and much needed addition!

This is the first time in like honestly 3 months, I have had two whole wonderful, glorious, days off in a row! So now I can finally work on some sewing! If you would like to see more of my sewing projects and products head on over to my facebook page Sew Indy, check out what's new and like it! After all this blog is suppose to be dedicated to my sewing and such...and so far I only have one measly post on sewing! What's up with that?

Hopefully after Indie Buisness 3.0 {Which by the way today is day one we get to read LA's business story}, I will have the knowledge, and skills it takes to sell online. Currently I just sell to friends and family who live close by, they tell me what they want, I sew it, drop it off, and they pay me! Not a very conveinent system I know?!

When I first started sewing I had no idea the handmade industry was sooo huge! It's awesome, these past few months in my journey I've learned so much! And I still have a ton to learn, I'm so excited for the future of Sew Indy!

{Nest Egg}

Last night I found this great fun recipe, I think it would be a really fun one to do with kids. I found it on!

All you need is:

1 bag of white chocolate chips
1 cup of coconut flakes
1/2 tbsp of Crisco {Lard}
1/2 bag of chow mein noodles {I would try and find the white colored ones, it just looks prettier}
1 bag of m&ms

Step one microwave or heat chips on stove until they are melted and smooth stirring occasionally so they don't burn

Step two stir in lard {what a gross word}

Step three stir in coconut flakes and noodles {works best if you spray your hands with cooking spray and use them}

Step four place even amounts in a muffin tin sprayed with cooking spray, make a litte teensy indent, add two to three m&ms!

Viola you just made the cutest little nesties!

Oh man!! So I woke up at the crack of dawn (9:30) yawn...not really I know but when I work at 12:30 I try and sleep in until at least 10:30 so it was early for me. Then I had to start getting ready for my very first WIWW! So I showered, blow dried, tousled, teased, and curled my way to perfection, got my outfit on, and went to take my picture. But I never realised how hard it is to take a picture of your whole body by yourself(especially if your room is a bit of a mess, so you can't just take a picture of yourself in the mirror or everyone will see your unmade bed) I managed to get these two beauts {insert laugh here}!

Dress: Old Navy $20.00
Tights: Romeo and Juliet
That's it!! I live in Canada so we don't wear our shoes inside or I could tell you all about the cute shoes I would be wearing! I promise this week I will wear something a little more interesting, with jewellery, and maybe even a scarf or a bag, Give me a break this was my first time!

Oh so the rest of my story about the rest of WIWW, the most hard and most crucial part the actual linking! Which I did all wrong...I put in The Pleated Poppies link instead of my own, so when you click on my picture it brings you right back to where you started...not my blog!

Oh and I figured out that WIWW is a compilation of outfits from the week not just Wednesdays!!

Wish me luck for next week!

Do any of you link up for WIWW??

Just wanted to share a few pictures from my sewing "studio" I feel funny calling it that but what else would it be called?

The buttons are from an antique store in Rocky Mountain House, and the big jar is from my grandma which I'm pretty sure she got at an auction sale, and I put all my favorites into the little tiny jar, for easy use when I'm working on my projects.

My sewing machine is actually my mom's and I'm pretty sure she got it as a wedding gift over 25 years ago!! It works like a charm and I love it because it's so easy to use...The Kenmore Single Dial!

Even though I don't have any followers yet I would like to ask some questions...ha this feels weird...what elements are your favorite in your studio?? name one thing you could not create {live} without??

{Let the sunshine}

What a gorgeous day today was +8! It's a shame I have to work and spend half the day inside. I bought some $5 dollar tulips last night and had to let them enjoy the sunshine! I hope to make some coordinating flower pins in the future...I'm thinking yellow, pink, maroon, black, and white...

Indie Buisness 3.0!

I am sooo excited about indie business....I haven't acctually signed up yet...but I will! I just have to wait for pay day to come! I really hope this course will help guide me, and answer a whole schwak of questions I have. I recently sent Maggie from Gussy Sews a two page letter in the mail with all my questions...poor girl. I really look forward to hearing back from her via snail mail!
