{Widgets and Gidgets and Gadgets...OH my!}

YAY!!! We finally had our indie sesh on creating a Widget! Something I have been sooo keen on learning because well your not a true blogger till you have one {...I think}. So I have been slaving away over the computer on this project and for all you indie bizzers out there I am stuck on step #7?! I'm not sure where to paste my link??

So I'm going to flickr about it...that's right I'm flickring not tweeting!

Amidst all this learning I nearly forgot to post my new logo...what do you think?? pretty chic!
Tomorrow is a new day...happy blogging everyone!

{Sew Messy}

Does any one else have an extremely cluttered and unorganized sewing room?? or is it just me?!

I find that when you are a creative person, you accumulate quite a few odds and sodds for future crafting. For instance I mostly sew cappuccino cozys, crayon cozys, blankies, and I just started making earrings and hair pins but I have the weirdest things in my "studio".

Here are the top 5:
-Plastic Cutlery
-Cotton Swabs
-2 boxes of jam jars
-A guitar {no one plays guitar in my house...yet}
-SWIMMING GOGGLES!

I think it's time for some spring cleaning...

Any weird things in your sewing room/studio/creative space?? Feel free to share and even post a link with some pictures!

{WOW...}

I am pretty much speechless...I just checked my email and guess what was waiting for me....3 logo concepts to choose from! Designed by Dionne over at Studio Chic Designs. I was so happy to see that email hanging out in my inbox...after a rough work week that was just what I needed. It's so awesome to see something I have been working so hard on become real life! This logo was just one more step in making my handmade biz become a reality...

Here is a direct link to Dionne's blog: Studio Chic Designs

Please go check it out if you haven't already, I am soooo happy with her work and I can't thank her enough for helping to make my dreams come true!

I really wish I could show you the three concepts I get to choose from but I'm not sure if that's aloud so you will just have to wait and see....

{Indie Biz}

Working on Indie Biz Checklist:
-Coffee-Check
-Water-Double Check
{So important to keep hydrated!}
-Netbook-Check

After taking this picture I started thinking about other bloggers and if they ever feel silly taking certian pictures? For example when I took this picture in a crowded coffee shop I had to stand on my chair...I'm not sure if I got any weird looks...not that I would care or anything any ways, but it probably looked really silly. Does anyone feel weird taking pictures for their blog in public? If you take pictures in say a cool vintage shop would you ask permission first or just snap away? I would love some feed back on this one fellow indie bizzers...

{Another DIY}

My next little project was inspired by Sarah Richardson from Sarah 101 and Sarah's house on HGTV. She was redoing a wicked ugly bedroom when she found an old coffee table with glass inserts in a second hand store and decided to use it as an "end of the bed chair"...I think that's what it's called? She took the glass inserts out, gave it a fresh coat of paint, and replaced the glass inserts with wood inserts covered with batting and fabric...so they were like cushions!

{Photo Credit: HGTV.ca}
Isn't this room amazing! I'm absolutely in love with it, I wish I was ballsy enough to to a wall paper in a big bold print. She up cycled the side tables as well as the "end of the bed chair", okay wait I'm going to call it a bench now...{why didn't I think of that before?}. So after watching this episode guess what I found over at my in-laws?

I think it's a perfect table for the project! Can't wait to show you the finished product. Also I'm linking up with Tip Junkie today so go on over and check out all the other tips for Tip Me Tuesday. You can click on the link on my side bar ---->

{Wedding Card Box}

It's not done completely....I'm still going to add a piece of card stock with the word "CARDS" in really pretty font, and possibly ribbon on the bottom as well. Originally {before I added ribbon} I was thinking people could just slip cards through the bars, but then I thought some cards might be to big...the top does open up so I just added ribbon and I will leave the top open at the wedding.

I got this amazing bird cage at Winners for $20 dollars...I think I might go and get another one either smaller or bigger and put some flowers in it or candles...Any one have any other cute wedding ideas?

{Goodies}

These are some of my favorite and most recent pictures that I took of the Cappuccino Cozy's I make! The light shining into my sewing room was perfect picture taking light! I'm trying to open a Big Cartel shop right now...I think it's been 3 days now and I still can't add a picture, or figure out inventory traking on the free account...grrrr it's making me angry just thinking about it! And I can't bring myself to pay for each listing and then a percentage when I sell an item on Esty?!?

Anyone have any good advice for Big Cartel?

Does Cappuccino Cozy sound good? I was also thinking Coretto Cozy? What do you think?

I have more pictures,products, and information on my facebook page search sew indy and don't forget to "like"

{Happy Friday}

What a week...I have just had no time for blogging, or anything for that much I have been working and suffering from a migrane most of the week. I have been brainstorming new products and packaging for Sew Indy, and put in an order yesterday for some new goodies I will be offering soon!

Many of you may be wondering what products Sew Indy offers? One of my favorite things I sell are coffee cozy's, I also make crayon cozy's {pretty self explanatory}, quilted coasters, and stay put towels. All of these products have my own little twist on them like vintage buttons, ruffles, funky fabric, and my excellent craftsmanship.

I have been taking an Indie Biz course online for just over a week now...And I think I will wait until the course is over before I open my online shop, as many others are doing. There is just so much to learn about product, potential, marketplace, pricing, and presentation to name a few.

Any guesses on what these will become??

{Lobsta Potata Bacon Chowda}

Linking up with The Prairie Story today!! I had 4 P.E.I lobster sitting in my freezer, and I have been wanting to make lobster bisque for soo soo long, but when I saw how hard the recipie for that was I decided on a chowder istead! This was the most delicious, amazing, flavorful soup EVER! And really easy and fast to make!

You need:
-3 bacon strips
-1 small onion
-1 clove garlic
-3 tbsp flour
-1 tsp basil
-1/2 tsp pepper
-3 cups chicken broth
-3 medium potatoes
-1 cup half and half
-3 small lobsters or 1 big one
-1 small can of corn

You need to do:
-Boil your potatoes until they are almost done...and shuck your lobster getting nice big chunks!
-In a large sauce pan cook bacon and slice in to peices, set bacon aside once crispy. Saute onion, and garlic in bacon drippings until tender. Add flour, basil, and pepper mix well. Gradually add broth, corn, bacon, potatoes, and lobster, bring to a boil for 2 minutes and then simmer.

{Tip Me Tuesday}

Part #1

So linking up with Tip Junkie today...My tip for you is on sewing room organization! And I have just decided to make it a series of tips for your sewing room! This all came about last night I had this huge like 1 liter jug of buttons and it was so hard trying to find the right color of button in a sea of thousands. This may seem pretty obvious but I got out 4 smaller jars and seperated them {Trevor helped while watching sports center} by color!
So much easyier to find that perfect one!

Don't they look pretty??
